RCF Grants & Scholarships

Extending the Reach

We award grants of up to $1,000 to organizations that serve the educational, social and physical needs of youth, veterans the aged, and people with disabilities. Rotary Club of Frederick funds paid out $25,698.99 in grants and scholarships in FY17!

We believe in doing our part to be sure that Frederick County continues to be a caring, supportive and safe place to live, work and volunteer. In addition to our signature project and other direct service projects, we also provide community impact grants to 501(c)(3) organizations. Tax-exempt public entities that use volunteers to improve the quality of life in the Frederick are also eligible to apply.

These grants of up to $1,000 are awarded to qualifying organizations in good standing with the IRS that serve the educational, social and physical needs of youth, the aged, veterans and people with disabilities will be given priority. Projects that involve beautifying the community are also considered.

The Rotary Club of Frederick Endowment Fund – This fund was founded in 1992 by the Rotary Club’s board of directors. Donations support Rotary Club programs and help provide post-secondary scholarships to deserving students.

The Margaret and Wayne Neely Fund of the Rotary Club of Frederick Maryland Fund – This fund was founded in 1992 by the Neelys. Gifts to this fund support Paul Harris Fellowships.

The Rotary Club of Frederick Endowment Fund for Youth of Frederick County – This fund was founded in 1997 with an anonymous gift. Donations support youth and character-building programs.

The Rotary Club of Frederick First Century Trust Fund – This fund was founded in 2002 by the Rotary Club’s board of directors. Donations support Rotary club community service projects and help provide post-secondary scholarships to deserving students.

The Rotary Club of Frederick/W. Meredith S. Young and Helen B. Young Scholarship Fund – This fund was founded in 2010 by the Rotary Club’s board of directors with a gift from the estate of Mr. and Mrs. Young. Gifts to this fund help provide post-secondary scholarships to
deserving students.

To apply for scholarships, students should visit www.ScholarshipsFrederickCounty.com. This URL goes to the Community Foundation’s scholarship page. Details can be found there. When the scholarship application period is open, there will be a blue “Apply for Scholarships” button that will take the user to the application portal. Students complete one application, and based on their answers, the software identifies matching scholarships. The matching may or may not
include the Rotary scholarships that are available.
