Volunteers from our club work with Meals on Wheels to provide two meals a day to homebound adults who are at least 60 years of age, and adults of any age who have a chronic health condition or disability. We deliver a hot meal midday, along with a cold meal that can be refrigerated and eaten later.
Meals are delivered to approximately eight residents along an organized route using the route guide supplied. Volunteers pick up meals for their route at one of several locations at 10:30 a.m. on their chosen day of the week. Deliveries typically finish by noon, after which volunteers return the cold and hot insulating bags to the same location where the meals were picked up, finishing at approximately 1:00 p.m. Routes are available on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
