Honoring Our Community’s Veterans

Recognizing and supporting our community’s veterans is one of our club’s service priorities. Through a combination of education and service, especially during the month of November, we have a long tradition of honoring all who have served our country with honor and distinction.

On Veterans Day, Nov 11, 2025, at our community’s annual veterans’ recognition ceremony, Joe Baldi, Past Commander of the FSK American Legion, Post #11, announced a partnership with the Rotary Club of Frederick, the city of Frederick, and the local military community that will renovate and upgrade downtown Memorial Park, bringing it to a new level of recognition and tribute.

Galen Clagett, past County commissioner, state senator, and longtime member of our club, has been involved in an effort to upgrade Memorial Park for several decades, but has recently re-doubled his efforts to form a nonprofit to support Memorial Park with great success. Michael McLane, one of our board members and a veteran himself, will represent our club going forward on this new not-for-profit organization.
