Our Rotary Club of Frederick had plenty to celebrate at the recent Rotary District 7620 Conference! Club President Joyce Draper, Past President Tedd Luck, and President-Elect Bill Armstrong represented our club and returned with inspiring experiences, memorable stories, and some wonderful recognition for our Rotary family.

During our weekly meeting, they shared highlights from the conference, including the five honors our club received for the 2025–2026 Rotary year:

  • 🥇 Enviro Club Gold Award
  • 🥈 Club Excellence Silver Award
  • Every Rotarian, Every Year Recognition — $100 per capita and 100% member participation
  • Rotary Foundation Certificate of Appreciation — Recognizing our club’s financial support of the End Polio Now: Countdown to History campaign

What a wonderful reflection of our members’ dedication to service, environmental stewardship, public image, and support of The Rotary Foundation! We’d like to give a special thank you to Frank Jarboe for chairing the Rotary Foundation efforts that resulted in our Club’s award.

Beyond the awards, Joyce, Tedd, and Bill shared some of the unforgettable experiences from the conference. One highlight was hearing from Dr. Mira Ghneim, a Shock Trauma surgeon, who provided insight into the extraordinary work of trauma care and the coordination involved in responding to critical emergencies.

They also participated in a Stop the Bleed training course, learning practical, potentially lifesaving skills for responding to severe bleeding emergencies. All three successfully completed the training and earned their Stop the Bleed certifications!

The conference also offered opportunities to connect with fellow Rotarians, exchange ideas, and learn more about the incredible work happening throughout District 7620.

Congratulations to our entire Rotary family on these well-deserved honors! These recognitions belong to every member who gives their time, talents, and resources to make our club what it is. And a special thank you to Joyce, Tedd, and Bill for representing us and bringing these wonderful experiences back to share!
