Changing of the Guard

At the June 25th meeting, then-President John Molesworth passed the gavel to President-Elect Michael Planz, symbolizing the end of one chapter and the beginning of a new one in the life of our club.

At the July 2nd meeting, Michael Planz was formally inaugurated as the 107th president of our club, and the RY 2025-26 Board of Directors installed, by District (7620) Governor Mandy Warfield Granger with Area Governor Ashley Waters in attendance.

Surrounded by his family, newly-minted President Michael addressed the club for the first time at the first meeting of RY 2025-26 on July 2. Central to his message was the Rotary theme for the year: “Unite for Good.”

He also shared some goals for the new RY, including:

  • Continue to increase service opportunities – that is why we are all members and there should be opportunities for everyone
  • Increase membership – let’s not just bring in new members, but let’s retain current members by making their Rotary experience worthwhile and ensuring new members feel engaged and embraced
  • Provide regular opportunities for social connections
  • Focus on environmental issues to align with one of the major pillars of RI
  • Continue the work of organizing the club’s processes and procedures so the history of the club is not lost
