On Saturday, October 24, members of the Rotary Club of Frederick joined fellow Rotarians and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation in Woodsboro for a rewarding morning of environmental service. Together, volunteers planted an impressive 300 trees, helping support a healthier environment and the long-term restoration of the local landscape.
One interesting aspect of the project was learning about the farm’s natural approach to land management. Livestock, including cows and sheep, are able to graze throughout the area, naturally controlling vegetation and reducing the need for mowing and ongoing maintenance.
Beyond planting trees, the day was a wonderful opportunity to work alongside fellow Rotarians, enjoy the outdoors, and contribute to a project that will benefit the environment for years to come.
A special thank you to Horejah Bah and Michael Planz for helping coordinate our club’s participation, and to all our members who rolled up their sleeves and volunteered their time!
Three hundred trees, many helping hands, and one shared commitment to a greener future!
