When our members join forces with other organizations who share our “Service Above Self” mission, we extend their reach, make them more successful, and amplify our impact.
At our December Bed-Build with Sleep in Heavenly Peace we built beds for children in the community who were sleeping on the floor or doubling up with parents and siblings, and collected more than 100 pillows for these beds. A few weeks ago Lou Stavely, one of the lead volunteers at Sleep in Heavenly Peace, asked us to collect 75 sheets and twin blankets for these beds. Working with Chris Colville and her team at the YMCA of Frederick, we blew through that goal,collecting 200 twin blankets and sheet sets!
