Student Homelessness Initiative Partnership of Frederick County, Inc.

SHIP of Frederick County provides critical services and essential resources to the hundreds of Frederick County youth experiencing homelessness each year.

Operating at the intersection of education and homelessness, SHIP works to reduce barriers to academic attainment for youth experiencing homelessness and connect them to community, resources, youth-centric programming, while advocating for equality in the systems that serve young people. The Rotary Club of Frederick’s Service Partnership Grant will help support the 2021 New Horizons Academy, an annual five-week summer program that provides high school students experiencing housing instability with core subject instruction needed for graduation, and life skills workshops designed to inspire and promote growth.
