Student Homelessness Initiative Partnership

SHIP provides urgent services and essential resources to the hundreds of Frederick County youth experiencing homelessness each year, including food, new clothing, social/emotional enrichment activities, and emergency shelter when no other options exist.

SHIP also operates the New Horizons year-round program and the New Horizons Academy, helping homeless high school students to access educational and community supports that assist them in completing their Frederick County Public School education and breaking the cycle of poverty. The funds donated by the Rotary Club of Frederick will provide scholarships for 13 area homeless youth so that they may attend SHIP’s New Horizons Academy in the summer of 2019.
