Over the last 100 years, the Rotary Foundation (RF) has spent over $3 billion to support life-changing projects all around the world. Specifically for the Rotary Club of Frederick, the RF has provided grants for the Ethiopian Rocket Stove project, homebound support for seniors during COVID-19, and many other service projects for our Club and our District (#7620).
To support the Rotary Foundation, the Rotary Club of Frederick asks that all members commit to being a Sustaining Member which entails donating $100 or more per year to the Annual Fund. If this is not an option, RCF asks that you consider committing to being an Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) which requires an annual donation of $25 to the Rotary Foundation Annual Fund-Share.
Opportunities to Donate
Annual Fund-Share is the primary funding vehicle for District Grants as well as International Rotary Projects. Contributions to the Annual Fund-Share are divided between the District Designated Fund (comes back to district in the form of grants) and the World Fund (used for worldwide grants/projects). The District Designated Funds are available for use by the District three years after the donation and includes investment returns on the funds over that time.
The Rotary International Fund also benefits from several indirect methods of donation. Polio-Plus donations fund global polio eradication efforts and are matched $2 for every $1 donated by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Endowments are created for the benefit of the District and the principal of the gift(s) is preserved with the investment earnings distributed for the specific restricted purpose designated by the donor.
