Gregory Rausch \nThanker:  \nSpeaker: Dr. J Martin Leiper\nProgram: Teaching Palliative Care in Gaza \nA Senior Tutor with PRIME (Partners in International Medical Education)\, Dr. Leiper has spent more than 25 years teaching palliative care teams providing comfort-based care for the terminally ill in Russia\, Ukraine\, Eastern Europe\, India\, Cambodia\, Rwanda\, Kenya\, South Africa\, Gaza and Australia. He is a past Chairman of the Scottish Partnership Agency for Palliative Care and in 2014 received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Hospice UK.  Before retiring\, Dr. Leiper was a Communication and Consultation Tutor in the University of Dundee\, and Lead Consultant in Palliative Medicine in NHS Dundee\, Scotland. He continues to have ad developing interest in teaching palliative care\, communication skills and church-based youth work.

Why not join our Read to Succeed program? \nMembers who participate receive 1 meeting make-up credit for each session you sign up for. \nDuring your volunteer hour\, you will have the chance to work with up to 3 students (individually for 20 minutes each). Sometimes they will read to you. Other times you will read to them. \nFollow these simple steps and you’re in! \n1. He has taught human trafficking at the FBI Academy in Quantico\, trained law enforcement professionals in the United States and other countries on how to investigate and prosecute human trafficking\, and taught trial advocacy to lawyers from Latin America\, South and Southeast Asia\, and Africa. \nProgram: The Locust Effect: Why the End of Poverty Requires the End of Violence \nDrawing on real-world cases and extensive scholarship\, Boutros has written a book entitled The Locust Effect. The Locust Effect  paints a vivid portrait of the way fractured criminal justice systems in developing countries have spawned a hidden epidemic of human trafficking and everyday violence that is undermining vital investments in poverty alleviation\, public health\, and human rights.

Choose a shift from 9:00-1:05 PM on one or more of these days and lend a hand at one of the Fair’s 12 learning centers: dairy\, sheep\, swine\, poultry and rabbits\, beef\, equine\, Birthing Center\, 4H displays\, “Machinery Row\,” vegetable garden\, City Streets and Country Roads\, and Farm and Garden.
