Can you volunteer an hour on a Tuesday between 1:30-2:30 at Monocacy Elementary School to help a new reader become more fluent and discover the joy of reading? Why not join our Read to Succeed program?

Members who participate receive 1 meeting make-up credit for each session you sign up for.

During your volunteer hour, you will have the chance to work with up to 3 students (individually for 20 minutes each). Sometimes they will read to you. Other times you will read to them.

Follow these simple steps and you’re in!

3. Watch for the Sign-Up Genius in an email and in the twice-monthly Rotogram and choose your date.
4. Go to MES on your scheduled day. Ring the doorbell at the Main entrance to be buzzed in. Someone in the office will help you sign in, get you a Volunteer Badge, and direct you to where you’ll be reading.
5. The secretary will direct you to the location where you will be working with students. Reading materials will be provided to you in that location.

Members who participate receive 1 meeting make-up credit for each session you sign up for.

During your volunteer hour, you will have the chance to work with up to 3 students (individually for 20 minutes each). Sometimes they will read to you. Other times you will read to them.

Can you volunteer an hour on a Tuesday between 1:30-2:30 at Monocacy Elementary School to help a new reader become more fluent and discover the joy of reading? Why not join our Read to Succeed program?

Members who participate receive 1 meeting make-up credit for each session you sign up for.

During your volunteer hour, you will have the chance to work with up to 3 students (individually for 20 minutes each). Sometimes they will read to you. Other times you will read to them.

Follow these simple steps and you’re in!

1. Cut and paste this link into your browser window: https://www.fcps.org/student-services/family-community-involvement.
2. Scroll down and click “Volunteer Training and Registration” to complete a quick training.
3. Watch for the Sign-Up Genius in an email and in the twice-monthly Rotogram and choose your date.
4. Go to MES on your scheduled day. Ring the doorbell at the Main entrance to be buzzed in. Someone in the office will help you sign in, get you a Volunteer Badge, and direct you to where you’ll be reading.
5. The secretary will direct you to the location where you will be working with students. Reading materials will be provided to you in that location.
