About Our Club

The Rotary Club of Frederick belongs to Rotary International’s District 7620, and is one of four clubs within Frederick County. We meet for lunch every Wednesday from 12:15-1:30 PM at Dutch’s Daughter to conduct club business, enjoy each other’s company and participate in a program of general interest.

We are currently the largest of the 63 clubs in District 7620 with approximately 190 members.

Fireside Chats

One of Rotary's most long-standing traditions is the

fireside chat," an after-hours social event that brings Club members together to enjoy each others company and get to know one another in a variety of settings. While some events are designed "adults only," spouses and significant others are always included. Members take turns hosting these monthly get-togethers, which have ranged from poolside bratwurst cook-outs to spring strawberry festivals to a Sunday afternoon of mini-indulgences at a Rotarian's salon and spa.

First Century Trust

In 2010, longtime Rotarian W. Meredith "Mutt" Young and his late wife Helen Young gifted the Rotary Club of Frederick with a generous financial  legacy. Club leadership decided to add this significant bequest to The Rotary Club of Frederick's Community Impact Fund administered by the Community Foundation of Frederick County. Renamed the First Century Trust, this Fund continues to grow annually through proceeds from fundraisers, and private donations from Rotarians who wish to support the Trust with their own immediate and planned gifts. Our goal is to build the First Century Trust to $1 million dollars by the Club's 100th Birthday in 2020.
